Yogamatic is a very unique website that offers the only ecological and customizable yoga mats online. The company was founded by Maryl Georgi, a yoga-enthusiast who wanted to share her passion with the world. Their products have earned great reviews, and even endorsements by celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey.
Yogamatic’s yoga mats boast high quality, compared to other mats you will find in retail stores. Their standard mat measures 72” x 24”, with a slip resistant under side embossed with a distinct YM motif. It is thick but lightweight and made from non-allergenic, non-latex material. Printing is done at their California studio, and each mat is printed on demand using water-based and solvent-free Dri-Touch inks. All of their mats are made from sustainable, recycled rubber that is also 100% biodegradable.
Starting at only $89, these Yogamatic mats can be a little pricey compared to other standard mats. Their website displays several designs in different categories like nature, pop culture, fun, spiritual, graphical and more. They also have the travel mat/yoga towel, which is made from recycled natural rubber and polyester microfiber. This has the same measurement as their standard mat but costs cheaper at $79. Each of the mats comes with a free shoulder/travel bag.
To customize a Yogamatic yoga mat, you must have an image to upload on their website. Unfortunately, this site does not have the kind of design studio that we normally see in other sites; where there are tools, cliparts and other options provided to help you create a custom design. In their design page, you will only be able to customize the mat by uploading your own image on their studio. The image can be rotated, scaled and flipped. You can also adjust brightness, contrast and add a simple frame. Text can also be added, and there are several options for the font, color and size.
Production of custom mats will take approximately 10 working days, plus the shipping time. Expect your order to arrive in around 12 – 17 business days. The company does not give any product warranties, and they will only replace mats that have misprints or defects.
Overall, we applaud Yogamatic’s ingenuity for offering custom yoga mats because there aren’t a lot of these you can find online. We also love that their product quality and style selections are topnotch. However, the price is a little expensive and they also need to work on their design studio to give more design freedom to their customers.
