The UK-based company Clothes2Order was founded by Michael Conway in 2002. It is part of the Quayside Group, one of UK’s big clothing distributors which is known to supply apparel for different events. The company prides itself in three important things: quality, flexibility and speed. While most companies that offer customization deliver goods in about 2-4 weeks, this company guarantees 24 hour and 4 day print and embroidery services.
There is a wide array of product selections in their website like t-shirts (for men, women and children), outerwear and other products like caps, bags and jogging bottoms. Different fabric options, colors and sizes are also available for each product. The problem is though, not all of the sizes are always available. In fact, most of the sizes can go out of stock so you would have to wait for another few days or so.
The base price for a custom tee is £2 – £5 and you also have to pay extra for the customization – £3 – £15, depending if you choose print or embroidery. You can upload your own image and use it in the design process. Before starting with the process, you will be asked to provide your first name and email address to continue. If you create an account, you will be able to save your chosen designs and come back to it at a later time or for future orders.
Although the site provides quality products and express service for their customers, the site is lacking immensely in their design tool. It does not provide a clear, visual representation of any kind for users to see their customized designs. They do provide great details in text about essential things but this can be a rigorous process, especially for first time users. More so, there are great limitations in terms of customization (like logo or text placement, font size or color, etc.)
Clothes2Order is notorious for their express production and delivery service but it is noticeable that this service is not available for ALL of their products. You will be able to see what products are available or not available for express delivery on the product details. If the product turns out to be valid for express service, there is a fee charged (£5 per item for 24 hour dispatch and £2 per item for 4 day dispatch). Returns and refunds will not be accepted except for faulty goods.
Clothes2Order’s option for express service is pretty admirable but there are still a few flaws in it. Additionally, you have to prepare to spend if you want to get your orders overnight (especially if it’s more than 1 item). We have to point out that their design application needs a major makeover too, not just the user interface but also the process itself.
