The Maguba company started in Londed in 2009. Founder Sebastian Macliver had the help of his friends in creating this unique brand. They have a family-owned factory and they use traditional materials like wood and leather to create these fashionable clogs.
All of their clogs are crafted by hand by cobblers in the factory and a lot of time is dedicated to its creation. The typical Maguba clog features a style inspired by a traditional Swedish clog infused with urban street style, fun colors and fresh, fashionable designs. They currently have about 17 different clogs, with styles ranging from tall boot clogs to traditional Swedish clogs.
Not all of these are customizable though. Only 4 styles are available for customization: Stockholm, Bologna, Barcelona and Visby. Although the clogs are a little expensive, with a price range of $149 – $239, they definitely boast high quality. The good thing is, there are no extra charges for customization.
The Maguba website has an appealing ‘Design Your Own’ page. It is very simple but looks pleasing to the eye. It is also equipped with a 3D image representation of the clog as it is being customized. Design updates and changes will be displayed as you go along. However, customization is limited. You will only be able to customize the sole and the upper of the clog. There are several colors that you can choose from and also some patent/glossy finishes and a couple of quirky prints.
They have a pretty quick production and delivery time. Orders that are in stock will be shipped in 1-2 working days and those that are not in stock are shipped in 4-6 working days. They deliver free for those who are located in Sweden and the shipping charge for other locations range from $10 – $13 per order. They accept exchanges and refunds within 40 days of dispatch, as long as the returned product is not used or damaged.
Despite the expensive pricing on these customizable Swedish clogs, they are still worth the purchase. Maguba boasts great quality clogs in modern, fun styles and customizable fashion shoes are hard to come by these days. We only wish that they add more design options and more fun prints in their online studio in the future so that customers will have more variety to choose from.
